A local member of flemish motorhomeforum 'Zwerfvagebonden' living in Veurne (lovely town near the coast, btw) fears the existing motorhome spot will disapear as a result of the misbehaviour of some motorhomers.
When he observes an abuse; he has a talk and hands over a leaflet.
I think this is a good idea to put some sence in some peoples mind.
I translated it for it could be used anywhere.

DEAR MOTORHOMEFRIEND

Do you like a hearthly welcome overhere ?
Do you like this spot to be available in the furure ?
Please observe following:
This is a parking not a camping.
It is forbidden to camp outside a camping.

So:
- use only one parking lot
- don’t park in front of a house and don’t disturb
- no awnings, chairs, tables, BBQ or washing lines outside
- don’t park here for longer than 24 h
- respect the suroundings and the milieu
- use dustbins and don’t leave any garbage
- no water- or chemical toilet discharge (this can be done at a camping or designated places)
- do your shopping locally

In behave of all other motorhomers:
Be discreet; the best and only way to keep this nice spot for the future.

Indeed a good idea .
Unfortunately like in many walks of life you have decent people and misbehaving folks. The motorhome fraternity is no exception.
I have seen MH owners dumping their grey waste next to a river, and when I pointed this out to them I got a nasty reply and nearly had to get the boxing gloves out. It is quite often that the few spoil the fun for everyone.
