We're heading off to Snowdonia the day after tomorrow, and the weather doesn't look too good! Can anyone suggest a good Kindle book for me to read. I really like thrillers, and am a great fan of the author Scott Mariani but I think I've read all his books! Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

If your into Ghost Stories you could do worse than download "The Haunted House" by Hugo Phirst.

Ha ha! Read that one already....it was dreadful!

Seriously, any suggestions for a good read would be most appreciated!

I love anything by Ian Rankin but have just read Relentless (Dominion Trilogy Part 1) by Robin Parrish.
I Had it for my Kindle because it was free and ended up really enjoying it, couldnt put it down, more to the annoyance of my husband, lol.
Going have to get the next 2 parts now!

How about these.....
Ellis Peters "Cadfael" series,
Terry Pratchett "Disk World" series
Leslie Thomas, "Dangerous Davis" series
I prefer the audio book versions (mp3), you can lay back in the dark with head phones, and just wander off into the story.....bliss.....

Hi, On our last trip I got through :-:dnd:

Imperium & Lustrum (Life of Cicero) by Robert Harris - Brilliant

Wellington, the years of the sword “2nd time”by Elizabeth Longford

1000 years of annoying the French by Stephen Clarke - Hilarious

A week in December by Sebastian Faulks. - thoughtful

John Grisham - but avoid bleachers and the painted house (both pants)
Sam Bourne
Scott Mariani
Dan Brown (not just the daVinci code!)

Thanks for these. I've already read all Mariani's books, but I will certainly try Bourne and Grisham!

Like some of Ken Follett's books, the pillars of the earth ones were a good read. At the moment reading Conn Iggulden Emperor series of books. For something amusing I like Tom Sharp, not really into thrillers unless they have a realistic plot (or at least half believable) hate books where the plot just collapses near the end.

A good site for getting info on authors & books is FANTASTIC FICTION A good site for managing & converting books to your format is CALIBRE

Complete waste of paper & reading time for a high powered businessman like me who maintains a cadre of low profile London lawyers, just like my friend Mr Murdoch.

I would suggest Henning mankell. the Wallander crime series. Must be about 20+ books in the series and excellent reading .

Detective Novels

Stephen Booth - Cooper & Fry series set in the Derbyshire peaks
Lee Child - Jack Reacher ones
Linda Fairstein - with Alex Cooper as lead.

Clive Cussler, James Rollins, David Baldacci, Karen Rose? I am SO glad I have brainwashed husband into letting me have one, and have been busy filling it with free and cheap books, ready for our Scotland trip, as I don't think I'm going to find a lot of charity shops in the remote Highlands, which is where I usually get my holiday reading.

You could try putting something on your Kindle for your husband to read?? Although this could lead to fights, I suppose!

Just think of all the weight you are saving - I've got 71 books on mine at the moment, there'd be no room for clothes if they were real books!!

If you like Cussler and Rollins you may like Scott Mariani's novels too. You can get them on Kindle from 49p. A real bargain. I've just downloaded his latest one which is a novella called Passenger 13. I'm really enjoying it! Another author worth checking out is Stephen Leather. Good old Kindle!
