We have made a decision ta dahhhhhhhhh...........We have decided to sell the Campervan :cry::sad: ...I am really sad because its been a great starter van for us, however now that we have the bug we want something bigger. The seven year Itch has now turned into ten year plan :lol-053: and the plan is to put a deposit down on another and see what we can get for our budget. Been looking at motorhomes and would love to know all the places where you may have purchased yours whether it be ebay, a dealer, private seller etc. Will be needing lots of advice because we have no idea what we want as yet. I loved 'Billi's motorhome but then again I like them all and thats the trouble

We have decided that an automatic is our top priority thats a must...

iif you found a self build to suit you,and theres all sorts out there, you would have farsands to spend on pleasure. why auto?

Oh dear ! lol
You might have to rethink the auto bit as you have just wiped out about 95 percent of vans !

Thanks BD you have just gone splat LOL :lol-061::lol-061:...... only joking we have this trouble with our cars too ....erm back to the drawing board me thinks :confused: Jac:wave:

It`s easy buy a big yank tank as most are auto !
We really did consider this as Karen only likes auto`s` too as she been spoilt on the buses !
You get a lot of camper for your money but not a lot to your gallon !

LOL I want it all .... a lot of camper/motorhome with lots of space, cheap as chips to run, automatic, fixed bed, and very cheap to buy...ahhhh see I dont want much do I

Yep those big Yankee ones have plenty of space, but not very good at fitting down our roads or compatible with our fuel prices. 6 litre engines and 10-12 mpg. You'll be homing but not motoring :juggle: I'd go for the manual test... you can do it no probs! Lots more choice that way.

We got ours from Wellsbridge Sales - Motor Homes of Class and Distinction. They did us a fair deal. They have a large stock in all the time and are happy for you to have a good look around the vans, opening out the beds and have a good crawl all over them. The big selling point for me was they left you alone to do it but when we wanted help they gave it. I have no connection to them.

Go to a show but get there early on the first day for the best deals. Couldn't Himbenny do the driving? I can drive ours if I need to but am quite happy navigating/dozing as a passenger! Martin was an HGV driver so he just gets in the driving seat automatically!!! Hope to see you at Poole.

Hi Sue and Martin...

Yeah we need to go to some shows and have a look round to get some ideas, out of interest what made you decide on yours ???.....Its all ifs and buts at the moment and its nice that we have made a decision to actually take the plunge. Financially it may be a bit tight, but I can cut back on other things, and we know this is where we get our enjoyment now, its our thing:banana:. Yes we will be at Poole so looking forward to seeing you both then and hope to get more time to talk, and even better it actually might be a little warmer :D

Take care

Jac:)

We bought ours from Brownhills of Newark... shortly after buying our 'van, we read many bad reviews and started to worry about our purchase. 18 months on, and we have had no nightmares, Brownhills have seen us good, even when our erbespacher started leaking after the very cold winter we had, we thought that they would have had the perfect excuse to blame the cold weather and us rather that pay for the repair themselves. The van was taken to the Erbespacher workshops and repaired at no cost to us.
We have used their free 'aire' facility quite a few times, (when you buy a van from them) which includes swimming pool, sauna, jaquzzi, discount in their shops and free or heavily discounted invites to their on site restaurant.
The clincher was the part ex they gave us on our caravan, we could not have got the same money selling it privately, and the fact that you are able to roam around, in and out of their vast collection of second hand and new 'vans on display without pressure from sales people.

Well, hopefully it won't be any colder!:D
Our priority was:
Budget
Fixed bed, and also on right hand side if not an island
Lounge area with table (in fact the fixed table was removed by previous owner and converted to freestanding table which means it can also be used outside) rather than dinette.
Definately not an overhead bed, or one above a big garage that had to be climbed into.
We've had boats before so we had a good idea what we wanted. There are always some compromises, we don't have a proper oven.
You'll know the one for you when you see it! We looked at new vans too to give us ideas of what layout we wanted, but knowing full well that we couldn't afford it. Once we knew what was most important it was easier to search.:goodluck:
See you in Poole.

If you're buying second hand then a good rule of thumb in my experience is; Buy in the autumn (less demand.... lower prices). Sell in the spring (more demand....higher prices)

Hi RT thanks sound like a good tip ...to be honest I advertised it on a site yesterday morning (only the one) and by last night it had several people showing interest, I honestly thought it would take me months and months to sell so therefore we would have everything in place in order to buy in the autumn that was my way of thinking. I am in a panic now for several reasons ...... I never do things by halves me :rolleyes2::rolleyes2:

It is such a comfort to know that other people's lives are complicated!! See you there.:D

I think this will be THE March meet as Hayling Island seems a bit expensive.
