I live near various anonymous chain hotel/motels.

Why not simply pitch up in a premier Inn car park or another chain (as long as it's free) leaving a note on the windscreen saying " in hotel", the minimum wage overnight staff don't really care...

And avoid snoring...

Amazing what drink does to sharpen the brain LOL.
 
I pitched up at the Travelodge on the A34 Newbury with exactly that in mind, only we did genuinely have 2 passengers staying in the
place. They still wanted £10 to park next to a major road with drunks coming and going at all hours.
We parked 500 yds away in a much quieter spot.
