While I was collecting information about wilding in the dutch province of Zeeland (see thread): I stumbled over this: all municipalities did put a ban over wilding over there; only one did not – the municipality of Reimersdaal ( = 10 villages).
They only ask you send an e-mail to the municipality stating you are coming on that date; and that you have a selfconvient MH. You put a copy of the e-mail on your windshield and you may go wild.
Only restriction: obey traffic laws etc, no more than 5 days, no more than 5 MH on one spot. (of course some spots should be avoided for safety raisons: sluces, slip-ways, fishers quays,…)
At first I found this a weird idea, but after some reflection it's geniuos !
(I became a little rusty above, so it toke some time )
In this way they avoid all what municipalities always are complaining about:
- masses of MH’s
- staying too long
- spilling waste-water and loos and dirt
- squating of places by ….
(if any complaint: they know you ! ).
Maybe an idea to put under the nose of those reluctant, and MH-banning, municipalities in England.?
(I know Graham Hadfield chooses to be no longer a member, but I am sure he could make a benefit of this example – but I guess he will come in now and then and read this )
