It is proving you have stayed in france which seems to be the issue. We can stay in Portugal for same reason. I have an email from European directive contact centre where they define my rights. It would be worth also getting a similar ruling from them as it is not understood even by border personnel! We keep receipts from beginning middle and end of stay in Portugal, just in case the French border guards question it. ( only place where we have to officially cross a border!) Pm me if you want a copy of the email.Thank you for that info and details of the app.
As we arrived in France on 29th April we assume that that is the first day of the 180.
Therefore 180 days on is 26th October.
We are not really sure that this affects us as although we are U.K. residents at present, we do have French residency for 5 years under the ****** Withdrawal Agreement.
So, we think that if we stay in
France, there is no restriction for us.
Interesting point or what?
Regards
Perhaps I'm being too simplistic but isn't the onus on the border control officials to prove that you haven't stayed continuously in Portugal? It is proving you have stayed in france which seems to be the issue. Timeline is a brilliant idea.Perhaps I'm being too simplistic but isn't the onus on the border control officials to prove that you haven't stayed continuously in Portugal?
That aside there's a better way to prove it should you need to. If you have an Android phone Google Maps Timeline will record your location continuously if you grant permission.
