83 VW T25 Auction 2/12/22.....

Isopon special, no loo etc, never understood the big hype about them to be honest, same with the bettle car, had one 1303 and thought it pure cr-p
Perfect size for exploring Scotland and can have more facilities on board than necessary like most motorhomes. Best vehicle I ever had was my T5 LWB🫶. There must be something special about VW campers Trev given how popular they’ve always been.

Mathewsons are quite clever, they like to draw you in with a lowish reserve hoping you'll get caught and keep bidding he admits it in the TV shows, I'd not bid on that, too much rust all around which looks like it's been repaired/hidden and come back, not the easiest thing to weld either.

It would make a great little camper for somebody at the right price. Even if they only got 5 years out of it it would owe them nothing providing they didn't have to spend large amounts to get through an MOT.

Still a good project but good T25s are a bit cheaper than the other VWs

It is just coming up to being mot and tax exempt. So they can bodge it up for as many years as they like.
I could never understand who thought it would be a good idea to make old cars mot exempt

Nor me Richard. It would have made more sense if they had some sort of safety test.

Doesn't particularly bother me though.

Loved my old mans VW. Think I cried when he got rid of it.
No loo, no heating, no leisure battery, no LED lights. Camping Gas bottle for both cooking and light. We've all gone soft

Be a good deal more than that by the time folks have added 'Scene tax' to it ....
Tempted in by the fact they're about the cheapest way in to Vw scene ...
They rot almost whilst you look at them and are to be honest an agricultural drive (that coming from someone that runs old land rovers ....)
I've had a couple of Dokkas (crew cab pick ups )
And a syncro ..(capable off road BUT drive train spares prices would make you weep )
Long before they were worth stupid money ...
I wouldn't have one now for love or money ...
Much better value out there that doesn't attract scene tax .

Not for me, bit like reebok shoes, coca-cola and BMW cars, all programmed into the head by the cult/follow the trend brigade.

They haven't always had a cult or trendy following.
VW for years made vans that were better than most the competition. That VW of my old vans replaced a Ford Thames, he wasn't following a trend (don't think there was one then) he just wanted a van that started every morning, and it wasn't the Ford.

Now they may have developed a cult following since, VW may well be very clever at marketing, but the point is the a had a decent product to build on.
May well be the case the completion have caught up, but they have been playing catch up for years so it's about time.
