Spending a day today fitting my new 5 metre long LEDs into the 'van, ready for New Years Eve.
Got caught out last year with my leisure battery failing on me, a mixture of the total consumption of voltage needed to power the erbespacher and lighting.:mad2:

Have tested the strip and it's gives out very good light.

Will post before and after pictures when i have fitted it. Intend to stick and staple it behind the curtain pelmet (so that it may be replaced if/when it fails).
Very cheap, and may or may not last long. However, I have bought LEDs from China before, for my motorbike (extra brake light and console lights) two years ago, and they are still working.
Also fitting my spare 'leisure' in parallel, to assist with demand.

cool. would love to know how bright and long lasting quality wise they are.

i dont have 12v lighting, just a couple of plastic poundland lanterns and batts. good lighting is what im looking into for doing in the spring.

I have some of these in the back of my work van, and Im also in the process of fitting them in various places in the eura mobil. They work very well, and you can shorten them and re-solder wires to the short copper straps.

I used something similar to replace the fluorescent tubes.

Just a quick tip here, don't rely on the double sided tape they normally come fitted with, it useless.
Get body/ no plate tape from a motor factors it's far better.

Cheers for now Gray.

I have an LED dimmer fitted in my van as all my lights are LED. It dims the entire circuit so all the lights dim together. If you find them too bright it is a good option.

I would like to replace all my lighting inside with LEDs.
The vehicle is produced with 14 lights just for the rear of the habitation area!!!! mostly spot lights which I have converted to LEDs. Also whilst fitting the new LEDs, I have run a fused supply via an isolator and a switch direct from the leisure battery. This is to enable the van to have lights on inside when the engine is running.
I have included some pics of the finished lighting effect.

Picture 1 is with the LEDs on and the blinds closed.
Picture 2 is the seating area taken with the flash on the camera (no lights on).
Picture 3 is no lights on and no flash used.
Picture 4 is another shot of the LEDs in action.
Picture 5 is an upward shot of the LEDs hidden behind the pelmet.

I only wanted the LEDs for background lighting, but I can see that they could be bright enough to read by if placed in a better position.
I intend to' bridge' the strip of lights with staples if the lights look like peeling off, thanks for the info Gray!
