How many hours viewing can you get from these flash drives once loaded? I am looking ahead to load tv and films for when im away longer than the norm, as I have decide not to have a satalite on my new motor

On average it takes about 350 mg per 45 min program so you should get 3 episodes per gigabit, I use a
2 TB hard drive that's plugs into the HDMI on the TV and gives me days of selective TVviewing

Not totally savie with it all, so would a portable hard drive be better?????

Yes

Work the same but more storage and more difficult to misplace.

50GB 100GB or more Maplin Tesco Currys etc etc

I have found the "buffalo make" to be good value and reliable and unless you are using it as a backup for your laptop no point in paying extra for the really good makes
Some need 2 USB ports One for Power One for Data transmission

The western digital one I use has a 12 volt feed so very simply to plug into the MH, plus a small USB socket to load films/ TV shows from a computer, then a HDMI and usual video/ audio in coloured white/ red/ blue sockets for the older TVs, sounds more complicated than it is but works very well for the wet days when you don't want to venture out,

That looks ideal.
I simply use the usb to my Avtex TV but I will keep a lookout

You'll get about 40 films on a 32gb stick depends on the video format though. MKV is best you'd probably get 60 odd films on if they were all MKV. I wouldn't bother with a hard drive, look at the SanDisk Cruzer Fit.
