2018 Bristol Balloon Festival

I know its not Exactly Wild but A few years ago, and for two consecutive years we went to the Bristol Balloon Festival and camped in a Farmers Field right opposite the ornate gate entrance to Ashton Manor where the festival was held.

There were tents caravans, camper vans and motor-homes but no facility's except water and a brown water discharge point, which was down an upturned road cone into a manhole !

We hoped to stay at that site again for this years festival but cannot find any details.

It was just a farmers field complete with sheep droppings and we presume it was licenced for use as a temporary site ?

I wondered if anyone knew more details of this site ?

There is usually a C&CC THS (or shorter weekend meet) for the ballon festival. If you are in the C&CC the info should be online in out and about section of magazine.

Thanks, but I dont think the site was linked to any bigger organisations and i check with the C&CC and they have a meet in Long Ashton, but this is 2.8 miles away and is fully booked.
The field we camped in was probably only 100 yards fro the entrance gate into the grounds of the event !

i think you mean Parsonage Farm ,church lane, it's a CL site but must get a licence for balloon time

I looked up Parsonage Farm as that is right by the field that we camped in but its states its a "members Only" site !

give them a bell , not everyone's a stickler especially where dosh is involved

I Just rang the farmer for Parsonage farm who said they would be having camping for the festival and to just turn up. But that sounds a bit hit & Miss

looking at the size of your van and then looking at that massive field i wouldn't worry about not getting a written invitation . never seen it totally packed

We used to go with the Motorcaravan Club, think they had part of the same field they for other campers but a bit more organised.

There are 2 areas 1 for MCC & adjoining arear separated by hedge for general camping.

I think the rugby club lets you stay (for a price) it is supposed to be close by

We're you booked in the two years running? And if not, why miss out on something that means so much, go and have a great time, mind post a pic:goodluck:
