1996 Autohomes Highwayman 1 Motorhome
Coachbuilt onto 1996 Peugeot Boxer chassis. 2.5l diesel engine with a mileage of 48100 miles. Taxed until 31 August, MOT for the next 12 months.
The motorhome is 5.85m long and has a max laden weight of 3200kg. You can drive it on a standard car licence. Airide adjustable air suspension is fitted to the rear wheels to adjust ride height and feel.
The cab has 2 seats, one swivels to face the main living area. There is a radio-cassette player fitted, with a 6 CD changer mounted under the rear seat. There is a lockable safe here too.
In terms of sleeping, it's 4/5 berth with double overcab bed and the living area seating converts to either 2 singles or a full size double. In addition the lower double can be widened by about 50cm to make an additional berth if required.
Power is supplied by a leisure battery, with a full 240v mains hook-up too. Heating is by gas, with a Gaslow re-fillable system meaning that you can refill cheaply, easily and convieniently at any Auto-Gas filling station.
The gas fuels the fridge (which will also run on 240v and 12v), the water heater and the air heater (which will both run on 240v too). The air heater is blown air which will blow air into the living area and the bathroom.
The bathroom doesn't have a bath, but does have a shower, a Thetford cassette toilet and a fold down sink. The fresh water tank has a capacity of 75 litres and the grey water tank has a 70 litre capacity.
The kitchen area has a sink, a 70 litre fridge (3-way), a 3 burner hob, a grill and an oven.
In the main living area there is loads of storage in the form of a wardrobe, underbed storage and a number of overhead lockers and shelves. One cupboard has a swivel mount for an LCD TV (not included). There is a TV aerial and booster installed and wired in. The table stows securely in the wardrobe.
Lighting is provided by fluorescent lights and LED spots.
All windows have reflective backed blinds, and the main ones in the living area have net screen blinds too. There are 3 rooflights, one in the bathroom.
The outside of the van has a roofrack and ladder fitted, as well as a Fiamma bike carrier on the back. This is currently set up for 2 bikes, but can be extended to carry more. There is a tow-bar and associated electrics.
A Fiamma wind-out awning is included (but not pictured), and there is an outside light by the rear door. Also included are 'Silver Screens' to cover the cab windows to give thermal protection and privacy in summer and winter.
Photos available here.
The motorhome is available for viewing in Central Scotland.
Price: A bargain at £12000 ono, as we're looking to buy a bigger one soon...
