I have a 1500 watt, 2000 watt surge Pure Sine Wave Inverter for sale.It is Mobitronic by Waeco type 7150 012 PP Input 12 volt DC , input current 150Amp.. output voltage 230V 50 Hz.continuous output 1500 watts Surge output power 2000 Watt.It was fitted in my Hymer for use, BUT one evening whilst watching TV through it, the TV went off and smoke was seen coming from the Inverter . It was quickly turned off and on later inspection it was found that a small component had failed and burnt out, this is the only visible damage, so I want to sell the Inverter as spares or repair, so anyone interested and what is it worth to you ?

hey Malc a non working inverter is no longer an inverter its a box of electronic spares with pretentions of one day becoming an inverter, get the description right, hee hee hope you are well.

150A DC input!!!!! Jeez, I would need a trailer full of batteries to supply that amount of battery power!

No you wouldn't. we ran it with 3 X 80 Amp hour batteries for about 5 years [ not continuously of course ] fed with a 100 watt Solar Panel , used it for our washing machine and spinner , hair drier, kettle and T V,

It would flatten 3x80ah batteries in less than an hour at full power so I guess you were only using a fraction of it's power. Solar power is not much help of an early/ late season evening when people might be wanting to use TV, microwave laptop etc. But if people need 240v I can see the point, I prefer to power TV & Lappy off 12v direct with no conversion losses.
