:help: Hi again!!! Well finally installed new leisure battery, got the wiring sorted and attempted to plug 12v tv into 12v socket. I have used an adapter from maplins, put the indicator on the adapter to 12v, plugged tv in and it blew the fuse in the adapter, changed fuse tried again same problem. I have now ordered 12v connector from the manufacturer of the tv in case the small adapter isnt strong enough to carry the charge to the tv..does anybody know if this will resolve the problem..??? Slowly running out of ideas and im a total novice at these sort of things...Any info would be much appreciated:confused:

What is the wattage of the TV (It should be printed on a plate on the back)

What size of fuse was fitted in the adapter (It should have a value in Amps printed on the fuse)

Putting the indicator to 12v is worrying. My guess is that it's not up to the power requirements.

What is the maplin part No??

Generally there are very few people who work for Maplin that have a clue about what they're selling

ask here before you buy if worried.

Pics also help if you aren't sure.

Also, don't leave the TV plugged into the battery. Even on standby they can use up to 0.5A. That'll soon flatten your battery if you've only got the one! and by the sound of it don't have a charging circuit.

tv poer consumption

power consumption of tv is.... 12V 2.1A 25W I cant find the adapter on the maplins web site but it was only cheap...!

my other question would be i need to fit a split charge relay as at the moment i just put clips on the batteries whilst travelling and then take them off. What is the best relay to buy and are they easy to fit??
