Has anyone used a 12v hair dryer that plugs into the cigar lighter that really works?

No, haven't tried one - but given that many sockets are protected by a 10 amp fuse, that would give you around 130Watts of heat - quite a way short of the 1000 to 2000W that a regular hair dryer puts out. May not be worth the trouble.

Yeah! I had one bought for me as a pressie...unless your hair is whisper thin, I'm afraid its neither use nor ornament!! I find I'm doing better with my gas hot brush/tongues., and even they not brilliant.

The bride reconds they are better than nothing:cool:
but if you have thick hair may take a while and for around £12.00
not to pain full on the pocket.
another point in France if you have selected 8 amp out put 1840w may still
not be able to use a normal hair dryer and a kettle for that matter

we bought one last year, I think it is great, it only takes 4 days to dry my hair!:D:D:D

well I have to leave a post then,I asked trish and she says her one is ok,and she has straighteners too, both from towsure..

Hi, they are crap.
Seriously if you need an hairdryer for wilding, then fit a good 12-240v inverter (1500 watt+) and invest in a 1000watt hairdryer. Just been through these stages ourselves, and wish we had fitted the inverter before the extra expense of the 12v total waste of space hairdryer.
Her indoors is now happy.

Happy Camping:)

12v hairdryers hmm

nooo good i have one ,head out of the window works a whole lot better then hot brush or straighteners (gas ones not brilliant but stops you looking like a candy floss, lol.

Thanks to everyone who sent me advice. As suggested I'll continue sticking my head out of the window or encourage my partner to buy an inverter. many thanks again for all the info.
