Hi
I am looking to buy a 12 volt fan, to put in the back of the van for the dog, as the air con is only in the front, can anyone reccomend where I can go to buy one.

Thanks :)

hi julie. i got a 12rotating fan 3 speed for my caravanwhen i had it i got it from a camping and caravan supliers called riversway leisure.co.uk it cost me 20 quid its worth a look.

Just go to any truck stop cafe motorway service stations you wil get one for about a tenner 12v or 24v.

If you want something that's really quiet and gentle, try a 12v computer fan from Maplins or similar; they sell finger guards to keep his nose out!

The 12volt Shop may be able to help. The suggestion for computer casing fans is also a good 'un. I get mine from the local tip

thats a great idea about computer fans much quieter than than the other fans thanks:D

If you have a rear lounge coachbuilt with a lot of windows then you need a better fan than a computer type.

I rigged up a fan for my dogs as I had that problem in my Elddis. The noise of a fan is nothing compared to the travel noise in a van like this. Mine was an oscillating type that was on offer through MMM mag.

I mounted mine low down on the frame of the passenger seat. It was adjustable as well as oscillating. The air low down is cooler and it picked up the air from the blower (I had no A/C) and made a big difference. If there is a large Heki rooflight then it does not have to be that hot outside for the van to be uncomfortable inside.

My fan had the fitting for the cigar lighter socket and was approx 6" diameter, which is the minimum size I would use.
