Hi Everyone,

We're renting a mobilehome in September for our very first trip. I'm really excited about it and can't wait to head off.

Only small problem so far is that I don't have a clue yet where to put my 14 month old in the motorhome.
We'll have a McLouis Glen 363 which has a fixed double bed (that I think me and my hubby will use) and a fold down bed at the front. I'm a bit worried to put him on that as he might roll off it. I've seen that the bench is the same size as his cot but of course he would just fall off it. I know that you can open the bench for storage but not sure whether you could use it as a kind of cot if you leave the lid open (sounds a bit sadistic I know but might be an option?)
I am wondering if any of you have come up with any creative solutions in your motorhomes? Or is there something obvious I'm totally missing?
Any ideas more than welcome!

let him sleep with you , as a Grandad we took our Grandchildren with us in the Motorhome from their ages of 4 months and loved every minute of it, best years of our lives, sadly the boys are 16 years now and camping does not have enough street cred as they say.

BABY TODDLER TOMY BED GUARD WITH POCKET on eBay (end time 14-Jul-10 16:58:55 BST)

What about putting a bed guard on the bench. We used one for our grandsons first bed to stop him rolling out I have just done a quick search on E Bay and there are 200+ for sale.
Have you checked with your hirer about the car seat for the little one.We have the dinette seats in our van and a car seat would not fit, maybe you have to fit them on the front seats, our youngest grandaughter is 7 now so we are past car seats.
Where ever you go have a great holiday, we hired twice and knew it was the life for us.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback!
It's our very first camping trip but I'm really looking forward to it.
We're heading up to Scotland from Belgium (I'm Belgian, my husband is Scottish) and planning to do a bit of travelling around there.

I've thought about the bed rail but think he might just tumble over it (he's very lively and doesn't know any danger, I just caught him standing up completely in his cot ...)

Sleeping with us is an option, although I don't think the bed will be big enough for all three of us, so that would ban my hubby to the fold down bed, not sure how he'll feel about that :)
It's worth considering though.

And thanks for the tip about the car seat, that didn't even cross my mind. Although I suppose you could lower the table if the seat doesn't fit below it so that it can still put it on the dinette seat?
Will definately check that out.

make a bed on the floor if it really bothers you. cant fall anywhere then. or have a big fold up box ,kids thinjk its a game to sleep somewhere differant to a bed.

I've got a folding travel cot in my 'van. It takes up a bit of floor space at night, but it just goes in a cupboard during the day.

of course at a year old they also fit large pressure cookers or barbecues , they jump out of frying pans unless you haver a good lid. ha ha . in morocco you can buy a tagine . you know the pointed hat dish. all the kids round here play the tagine game when they visit. i can eat a whole one.
