i sent a email off to a counselor regarding parking in felixstow as iv been very confused lately of what i can and cant do, this is the reply.
regarding parking and over night stops, i only no one location to were she talks about dont no the rest. help so stick this in your poi page

Dear Mr.Collins

Thank you for your email and the idea of parking for motor homes.

From my knowledge motor homes can park on the Manor Terrace car park which is adjacent to Landguard Common and also on the Garrison Lane car park near Lidl's. I have noticed several that park on the road near Cobbolds Point. There is a large car park at Landguard Fort which can also be used for overnight parking. Are you suggesting a designated site for motor homes? We have several caravan sites that I am sure provide this facility and the District Council are not in a position to set up a separate facility as the financial implication would be considerable for a limited return from a parking fee.

I am delighted you enjoy coming to Felixstowe and hope you will continue to do so.

Kind regards

Doreen Savage

That sounded quite sensible and decent.

i was thinking the same thing, she sounds like a very nice lady and has the town at hart , i did remind her in the letter i sent very politely this, that motor homes do make up a small amount of contribution to the economy, ie market on the Sunday boot sale saturday landguard and the museum beach with arcades, , burger van at the view point. the list is long and sea side resorts need all the help that they can get as all there trade is mainly seasonal as we all no and this was the response i got, now it ant afical as the way she rights it but she is asking me and i hope us all back as and when.
The town is not as good as it was in the 70s and 80s but we do have sand now as they dig it up from the sea lanes and pump it back to land.
felixstow is a good stop off point if your on rout to a different location.
the car park by the common has loos clean ones as well, and a water tap out side 24 hours, the car park is large but is busy as dog walkers use it and some are grumpy towards vans as they think its all theres and cant shere it.

Might be a good idea to have the July meet on Manor car park? Landguard point is too small and far too busy. And Garrison lane car park is also worth a look at. as there is a good pub opposite and a couple of take aways as well. also the peir etc., is only a couple of minutes away. I shall check it out this Saturday.
