“Pop-up campsites” in Scotland

This months NFUS magazine has a short article suggesting to farmers and landowners that pop-up campsites could provide useful additional income. It seems that the Scottish Government is taking a “relaxed” approach to the 28 day temporary campsite without planning permission regulations. I wonder if there will be a significant take up.

It's the typical presentation of figures for sensationalism, at least I hope it is.
If you read at the end it says "Based on the experience of a pop up campsite in Cumbria in summer 2020 (based on date booking made)"
I take that to really mean that this site took bookings worth £7000 on one particular day. Otherwise you've got, say, 175 units at £40/night, all with minimal or no facilities.

Sheeeit !
I just bought a field

OK, silly I guess, but a thought to consider seeing as many of us live in interesting places and it kinda carries on the WILD camping concept. We even have Glossop Caravans 20 mins walk away if you fancy being ripped off
As I said, Just a thunk

It's not silly, Peter.

Anyone passing by ours is always welcome to dump and fill if they need to (no daft jokes, purleeze! )

Max van size for squeezing on the drive would be 24 feet, or you could just pull up in the street straight in front of our driveway if it's just water and waste disposal you need before heading off again.

We have an outside manhole cover we started to use the last 3 years rather than take the cassette into the downstairs loo.
Also several outside taps front and back of house with potable water.
Covid safe, no need to come into the house! (y):)

I think driveway swaps is a brilliant idea.

Motorhomecraic have a section where members post their general location and what they are able to offer eg waste disposal and water only or maybe overnighting on drive. You then just p.m the person concerned....I wonder if that is possible on here?

Can’t see anyone wanting to park at mine. Unless of course rolling out of bed is your thing. Drive is at a 20o angle. Great for solar, at midday it faces south. And of course the biggest drawback is that it’s Northampton. Getting on the M1 at junction 15 has become a distant memory. Need to get away.
Getting rid of waste has been awkward in the past, so somewhere to dump sounds a great idea. As long as if doesn’t hit the van. ( Can’t remember where that came from🙄)
Another plus is, locals would know nearby stopovers .
