  1. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

Ahaa... I drove past there without stopping on this trip, looking for a place to spend the night before it got too dark. :( It's about twenty years since I went to Smoo caves, so my memory is failing me!
  2. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

That sounds like north east Scotland then, around John O'Groats? Very frustrating... I must've been pretty close to there on my tour of the Scottish coast!
  3. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

Nope, I don't recognise that either. Looks a great spot though!!
  4. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

It's on the causeway across the estuary, just east of Tongue. Google Maps OOPS, Sorry, I mean just WEST of tongue!!
  5. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

Getting warmer! A few miles east of there as the eagles fly! PS The photo's are looking inland, in a southerly (ish) direction :)
  6. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

Nope, it's on the very north coast of Scotland. If it helps, the place that I slept nearby was outside a big old graveyard! :)
  7. Inconsiderate motorhome parking

A beautiful spot. I won't spoil things for Robmac by naming the location, but I spent a night about 3/4 mile to the west of there, in early October. Can't wait to get back up there again! :)
  8. Elevating roof advice please

This is probably a good time of the year to buy one, as I've heard that many elevating roofs will be going up in the Spring!! :):)
  9. Merry Xmas Everybody!!!

A "onesie" is a kind of all in one outfit for ladies (though some men might wear them? :scared:). It's similar to what used to be called a catsuit, or jumpsuit when I was a lad, with the top and trousers as one piece. (I would've likened it to a boiler suit, but I'm not sure that Rach would be...
  10. Having trouble finding a Pub Stop.

I gave up on looking for a pub stop, so I found a cosy rural spot near some farm buildings. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep due to the sound of a baby crying all night, plus somebody had left a very bright light on. Hava Happy Day! :) :king::)
  11. Having trouble finding a Pub Stop.

I've been driving around this little town for hours, trying to find a pub stop to spend the night. I've seen several likely looking spots, but when I ask if they have a space to park my campervan overnight, I keep getting the same reply..... "Sorry, there is no room at the inn". :)...
  12. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Best wishes for Christmas, and Happy Travelling!!
  13. £$%^ box loo

That's in case their mobile phone catches fire! You can't be too careful...... :)
  14. Gas heater - which gas? Red or blue?

I believe Health & Safety insist that all idiots wear their own unique design of hi-viz jacket, for this very purpose! :)
  15. Gas heater - which gas? Red or blue?

To be fair, I HAVE heard of Shauns' method of cutting the hose to move a cylinder before. But I still say that it is too dangerous to recommend, and to be honest, I can't see a need to cut the hose without turning the cylinder valve off first. IF you have time to move a gas cylinder SAFELY...
  16. Gas heater - which gas? Red or blue?

Brrrrrr..... Who needs a gas fire to keep warm when we can all have a heated debate instead?!! :) And please stop "rubbing Aladdin up the wrong way"!! (sorry Aladdin, but you DO have a magic lamp, and it IS panto season!) :):)
  17. Gas heater - which gas? Red or blue?

I think Hippy will be delivering the heater to you personally now. Probably within the hour!! :):):)
  18. Gas heater - which gas? Red or blue?

Hi WVW, If I remember correctly, the capacity of a long wheel base, hi-roof transit van is 11.29 cubic metres, so according to the safety instructions posted earlier, this heater is not suitable for your van. (And that's before you consider the vans' contents, such as any (temporary?) fixtures...
  19. Electricity free auxilliary heating ideas?

Just to add to Tonys' warnings about carbon monoxide... Another "hidden" danger is that if your body absorbs a small amount of it, you may become partially paralysed before you have a chance to react. For example, you may be aware that you are being poisoned by it, but could be unable to move...
  20. Plug Dilemma

Ahaa.... please note that I said "directly to my leisure battery circuits." ( meaning not simply an "extension-lead" type plugged into the original lighter socket). Each one is fed via its' own separate fuse from the fuse box. Good advice about the fuses though! :)
