spray with leak tester or at a pinch soapy water.
You may need to check pipework inside van too.
But if you suspect a leak, it would be advisable to get it checked professionally. It may cost a few pounds, but how much is your life worth?
does light go out when cassette is removed. if yes, sounds like magnetic lost stuck in up position. tap around cassette sides, area where it meets reed switch, to try to dislodge float.
If no, then suspect reed switch. Tap with plastic handle of screwdriver. If this works replace switch.
Best time to play with things, if it's broken , you can't break it anymore. Could be a blown internal fuse, popped cap or just a dry solder joint which finally gave up.
