There are still quite a few CAMC CLs at less than £10 - this one is a couple of miles from me, and £5 a night. (Its a large site immaculately kept right next to the river)

This one is £8 a night...
I hope it doesnt happen now, but guess where trains used to discharge!!
A farmer we know used to buy old railway concrete sleepers.
Now he cant buy them until they have been steam cleaned!!
Definately dont paint them, check for corrosion obviously, then maybe use waxoyl to protect them.
If in doubt ask the MOT guy to spend a bit longer checking them.
Dave.
I have been going to Mull for over 40 years (either camping or c/van), and usually stay on the lochside at Gribun (road SW from Knock farm), where there is plenty of room.
The site at Calgary bay is good (small vehicles only) but will be very busy this time of year.
Lovely little car park at Saddell, with a fantastic easy walk down to the shore at Saddell castle. also the small remains of Saddell abbey worth seeing.
That must be one of the most ambigous signs there is - it assumes readers know the 'councils management rules'
Cant be enforceable, surely, ....although I never stay where I am clearly not wanted anyway....
The truck garage in Kinlochbervie (not the petrol station) does recovery and there is a truck workshop over the road from them. only a few miles down the road from you.
They will certainly be able to fix it.

Excellent night last night at the GMT, apart from sheep using the van as a rubbing post at 4am!
Ticket machines broken but still left a fiver in the honesty box. 3 other vans there.
The wind on the summits was extreme, and with wind chill we reckoned equiv to 0 deg C.
Thanks Fisherman, the plan is to go up White Coombe and possibly Hart fell if my knees are up to it! (Both over 800m)
have stayed at Megget a few times, but may check out Fruid reservoir poi as well.
Have you considered these - they have 3 times the recharge cycles, and similar size.
Recently reduced in price as well/
(David of Wildebus speaks highly of them as well)

Ditto, we have one of these (Dometic compressor I think) and it uses around 2.4 amps when running, and, depending on outside temperature, no more than 30% duty cycle.
So thats around 17 Ah per day, so very economical.
On the A75 in a village near us, there are 'deterrant' traffic lights whose sole job is to stop traffic for a minute if detected going over the 30mph limit.
Strange to see traffic lights just for this alone.
On our 4wd vans, we need to use the engine braking on very long descents,as the braking system is about at its design limit with running near mgw all the time.
On long alpine passes, they will fade eventually if not treated carefully.
Also the reason to fit the best quality pads and discs you...
Looks a very good unit - essential when you are airing down for sand then have 4 big tyres to get back up to road pressures.
I suppose for most on here its only for weekly checks so a smaller unit would be ok, but some of the compressor claims of 100psi are 'inflated' !!
