I have that set up with the 907 bottles at the sliding door. I used copper pipe from the cooker to a bulkhead mounted nozzle for the flexible pipe to the cylinder.
On my Citroen (same as the fiat) I carefully drilled a hole in the cover for the sender unit then fitted it from above. I used a take off pipe for a planar heater, which had a clever narrow washer that meant that I did not need to remove the sender unit from the tank.
