  1. Watertank replacement

We use Reliance all the time now, discovered them when we had a problem after collecting the motorhome from storage. Our home base in UK is Chichester. Despite a full diary, Sean fitted us in and sorted us. They are like an old fashioned service centre where service matters. Few around now...
  2. Raffle to raise money for the Defib Fund.

Ditto. The nurse is very cute though.
  3. Greece has banned motorhomes

Agree clarification needed. I appreciate the Northerners on Tour have said the law is being reported as extreme and must be illogical. But this is Greece! I've heard of more instances of the new law being implemented. 16 motorohomes moved on from the huge parking in Nafplio. But not fined. A...
  4. Greece has banned motorhomes

James 'chipped' in. We have also contacted the Hellenic Camper Club to offer a small financial support, as they are pursuing this legally.
  5. Greece has banned motorhomes

I agree wild camping was illegal but it was never really enforced. And for the need to deal with density of campers in popular places in season. This is new law that has not been properly thought through. Campers now can't even for a few hours, let alone park for the day at beaches, car parks...
  6. Greece has banned motorhomes

Might be as was on my FB. Try this link https://chng.it/hCn7g2Ghyw
  7. Greece has banned motorhomes

Effectively. A law passed in January only came to light when 3 campers were fined €300 for parking by a beach. The law passed at night states motorhomes cannot park AT ALL on public land. And only one at a time on private land. So this will impact on being able to shop, go for a meal or visit...
  8. Break in in Tarragona while wending way back from Portugal

How blinking irritating. On the plus side, you are OK. And they didn't pull everything out of every cupboard ransacking looking for stuff. Having been broken into in Copenhagen on our first year full time, we made the rule to use campsites in cities or stay a long way out and public transport in.
  9. Dometic fridge not clicking on gas

Fixit man in Hetaklion then stopped answering our calls so he was obviously too busy! We won't be using the mh between now and end July as house guests and will fly back to the uk when my first grandchild arrives. So I'll book repairs on the Greek mainland. There's a newish place near Athens...
  10. Dometic fridge not clicking on gas

At Fiat in Heraklion atm ... fixing cab heating, so will see if I can identify the ignition switch and clean it. The clicking stops, so reading the above and link to previous Annie's issue, it sounds more like that. BTW, no ignition battery. And I'll dig out the model no. Thanks guys
  11. Dometic fridge not clicking on gas

We had a new controller unit 18 months ago, thinking that was causing the previous fridge problems. In the end, it was a blocked supply! But, fortunately, I have the old and probably OK controller, with us! But could do with identifying the fault before we pay to replace it. Ho hum ...
  12. Dometic fridge not clicking on gas

Grr. The f/f worked fine 3 weeks ago so it hasn't all seized up. But now it thinks it is working on gas, as no error message. I know we have gas. But what is strange is that it is not even clicking to fire up when I switch it on and off. Well, it gives are half hearted double click and then...
  13. Travel Apps

Atlas Obscura: great for visiting, often small, but unusual places. Always check what is nearby. Found some gems. Banking apps. Life must go on with moving money around and paying bills. Organic Maps: creators formerly sold Maps.Me. I put coloured pins on for walks, attractions, parking's...
  14. Camper rent in Albania?

We spent 6 weeks touring in Albania, but in the car and accommodation. Fascinating history and sites as UFO describes. But the driving in Tirana was the worst we have ever experienced. I would never drive there again, let alone in a mh. It was the only place a waiter tried to rip us off...
  15. Belgium - Netherlands - Germany

And dogs difficult in Holland. We found some campsites and Aires limited the number of dogs to 2, 1 or none at all. Walking off lead places are hard to find. Priority always to bikes. Belgium much easier all round.
  16. New car

I went from a C estate to a Forrester. Had always liked the look of them. Great car. I left the lights on once and flattened the battery. The breakdown chap said that was the only reason he ever got called out to Subarus, as so reliable. BUT I could just not get comfortable in the driving...
  17. 10 weeks Morocco

We did too. Totally set up for tourists. Beggars. More expensive menus. Cheap samey tat in the markets. Would recommend anyone to avoid.
  18. Corsica - Sardinia - Sicily have you been there?

Sicily is large with lots of historic sites and places to visit. We spent 3 months there! 10 days totally insufficient. Sardinia is absolutely fine for wilding. Corsica has beautiful scenery but all the restaurants had virtually the same menu (early summer). Used campsites and whole vibe...
  19. Caravans give you more freedom than motorhomes.

To be controversial... we found being in the car touring Morocco was better than being in the motorhome. We travelled roads with amazing scenery that we would not have been able to in the motorhome.
  20. Ireland visit - yay!

Used to be a school. James' cousins worked there as teacher nuns.
