My preferred route would be
1 Pronten in Germany to Gshnitz in Austria via the Fernpass.
Round Innsbruck
Avoiding motorways and the Europabrucke.
Overnight in Gschnitz a lovely spot then into Italy.
It is then easy to remain in Italy and cross into Slovenia.
