Hi .
Just got e.mail saying wildcamping video please watch but only got a heading and nothing else is it just my end.

Whilst the video may be a good idea 20 minutes is way too long, 2 minutes should be the target. By the time it got to five minutes I am afraid I ditched it. I may have missed the key point but that's life. Personally I am not a fan of videos unless they are very slick, a short slide show with the key bullets would be easier for many. I also suspect that many like me usually have the sound off which just adds to the inconvenience of the video format. My apologies for not being a convert

Watched the video from the link above and the App news seems very positive.

If you had watched it right through, you would realise that the amount of information given could not have been done in 2 minutes.
 
The purpose of the video was to give people an update on what is happening.

I kept the video as short as I could and did not waffle too much. It took twenty minutes to pass the information over so that is how long the video was.

If you don't like videos then please don't watch them, just read the forum to pick up the information.

20 minutes video? I'll have to wait until the Sun comes out, so I can connect the phone to a solar panel.

Phil, no disrespect intended mate, but you spent 3 mins of the video promising you wouldnt waffle. 20 mins is way too long and you need to know that constructive critisism is the best way to build a business and realise mistakes. I like your videos contents, but not the length of time it takes to hear them and the sound is crap as well. I was on full and ear to the keyboard but still not enough.

Dont stop the vids, but next one, try bullet points and let us fill in the gaps with our own imaginations.

I do appreciate the feedback. But it is better for people to be accurate and truthful in their comments. I spent 27 sec explaining that I was not going to waffle :) .

The volume level was far too low and I will rectify this on future videos.
The video was too long and I will aim to keep videos between 5 - 9 minutes in the future.

I tried to be honest and give you my opinion. 27 seconds saying you are not going to waffle is 27 seconds too many, just get on with it people will quickly see if you are or are not waffling. You admitted there was no script that was a mistake, a script and a trial run will make the final event much better for the viewer. One possible way of making it more interesting could be to talk over a combination of powerpoint type slides and short video clips

As I explained in the video, it was unedited. To make that video took 20 minutes. To do the same with powerpoints and scripts and rehearsals would take at least a day. I don't have time for that. So it is either a video like that or no video at all.

I would prefer the videos to have a higher production quality and in the future, they will do.

I do value feedback like yours.

The video didn't make my ears bleed, so not tooooo long, maybe have cut a few minutes off but that would have been a few minutes of not admiring Phils new haircut.

P.S. Just don't ask Phil how computers work, his hair will be in the style of the pop idol it is now but by the time he has finished he will be looking like an aged hippy!
