Where are we all ????

As a spambot, I don't have an identity. Do not reply - this in an automated message and there is no human being on duty to answer it.......................:rolleyes2:

lively debate as ever and as ever debating liveliness (if that's a word?) - I like this site

I'm from Hull, If anyone comes here in a motorhome all I can say is, didn't you heed the warning when the road sign said "welcome to Hull twinned with Chernobyl"

Back to the OP

There's a few of us around this part of lancashire. When I'm home, I'm in Colne, and there's regular contributers on here from Earby & Sabden.
Look out for the Gixer's too!!! They're very near you in Blackburn!

hello from mrs slippers.

yep, mr slip was a local councillor for a few years but spent his working life as a bog-standard firefighter and me as a bog-standard nurse. nowt special there and i'm confused by your accusations. but as stoke city supporters we do think we are a bit special ;-)

it takes a lot to embarrass us after a lifetime in our occupations.

mrs slip

Hello mrs slippers. There is not much difference between us. My wife was a Nurse (now retired). She enjoyed the job until a Schizophrenic assaulted her. Our son is a Crew Manager with the Tyne and Wear Brigade, been in about 10 years.

As for me, if I tell you, I would have to kill you afterwards. :lol-049:

I follow a football team which also plays in red and white stripes. OMG we could be related.:scared:

Welcome to the forum.

come on brainlate "red and white" don't tell me your THE donny rovers supporter:baby:

Not everybody wants to divulge too much info about themselves on a web forum.

Some people prefer to be incognito for a variety of reasons, some will be valid.
You can't force them to divulge personal information.

Quite right, too.

Me? I don't give a bugha.
What you see is pretty much what you get, I'm afraid. :lol-053:

PS Oh, and some people won't know which bit of their profile they need to update cos they are still learning how to use Tinternet :)

Everybody needs to know your address mongoose so they can avoid you.

I would personally be against giving my exact location, the reason being we go away for extended periods & leaving info on our address along with details of how long we are away for isn't very sensible. Surely you only need to give the town you live in. On the Song of the Paddle forum they have a My Location option where you can put your location on a map, I think most people just give an approximate location.

of course there's no need for details, just helpful in lots of ways to have some idea, for example, west yorkshire is good enough to know if somebody is within reach of places or services that could be recommended

My first post.

:nicethread:I personally wouldn’t want to give my specific location for the reasons given by many on here, but am willing to say I’m Nottingham born and bred and is now living a stones throw away from the River Trent in Sawley on the boarder of Leicestershire.

Be as secretive as like on here.

But remember .... I have got my eye on you.

PC Maingate, Drug squad.

BTW, welcome.

Somerset or South-West?

Some suggestions for comment:
County - Could another data element be added to everyone's profile so then the local county could be added.

Areas - Those who do not live in a well-defined area might struggle to decide what to put in - so maybe a pick list might also be useful to create specific area titles.

STD - Another idea would be to add one's STD code to clarify the area, then one could search on the STD.

Wildcamping Locations - What about all members being asked to provide two/three wildcamping locations near where they live and these are used to group people.

Age Groups - What about age grouping using DoB?

Just Ideas.

Don't you go grouping me in with a lot of old folks!!!!!

As my dear Auntie Dora said at age 80 when asked if she'd go to the Over Sixties club - "I'm not going there, it's full of old people!"

Better still, Admin could make us carry ID Cards and also the means to look at each others Medical and Financial records. I am in favour of wife swapping. If anyone has a 16" Ducato wheelrim, I would do a swap.
