We’re off to Beadnell bay in Northumbria on Saturday for a 2 week holiday, never been farther north than Whitby in England, so I’ve cleaned and polished the van, covered the inside of trailer with foam gym mats, made 2 shelves and loaded the trailer up ready, we can’t wait for Saturday to come.

If anyone (@barryd ) has any special places to visit let us know.

There was my Coldingham Bay / St Abbs thread

We also stayed here near where you are going which was pretty good.

Pretty similar T6 to mine, nice van. Beadnells a great site. Walk ito the village, nice pubs. Fish and chips in Seahouses and boat trip to the Farnes, best beach in the UK at Bamburgh, kippers in Craster, boulders on Dunstanburgh Beach and of course Holy Island. You'll love it.

Anyway folk should make sure they use sun cream in this next few days, think this weather is to last a week or two, sun hats at dawn.

OOHHH. LUCKY YOU.......you will love it in northumberland.....
...when we went,,,,we followed the coast road as much as we could
starting off at sunderland....(..we wanted to get as much of the coast as possible.)
then thru tyne tunnel etc. just stopped as and when and where we wanted to...so much to see

About time we all went back to Druridge Bay Trixie.

Breakfast in The Landing, than gentle stroll through the caravan site onto the beach and back along the beach past the lime kilns to one of the excellent places in Beadnell for coffee - try The Courtyard. Then off to Low Newton where there is a great beach and a super pub (the Ship Inn) for lunch. Sleep off lunch on the beach. Back up to the crossroads for ice cream at Sarahs Ice Cream parlour (although it was being redeveloped last time we drove past a couple of weeks back). Then back to Beadnell for a super meal in the Salt Water Cafe or Beadnell Towers (Craster Arms if both are fully booked). That’s day 1 taken care of. For the rest of the time as others have said Alnwick, Bamburgh, Craster, Seahouses and the Farnes, Lindisfarne. There is also a super little train that runs from Heatherslaw to Etal where both Etal and Ford are well worth a visit,
We love the area and are frequent visitors despite living 200 plus miles away near Aberdeen.
