100gb for 15 days it says £47 and for 90 days £66. Its not clear if the 90 days is a price per month or for the full 90 days but it wouldn't be enough data for me if it were the latter and its too expensive for the former.

I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing that exists that covers all of Europe thats cheap. And nothing available in the Uk without severe limitations unless you are lucky enough to have a legacy contract.

The only thing I think is to buy sims for each country or cough up a lot more money for an EU wide one with generous data allowances.

this one has some catches! it’s rather strange how they word the FAQ answers on the ”Unlimited” packages. First it says, there is no fair use policy then there is a button that takes you through to one!!

On the fist page the unlimited service is limited to 5Mbit/sec for first 30gB per month then it’s 1mBit/sec after that. No good for most things after first 30gB.

For me this is a long way from “unlimited”!!

The fair use policy that is has/does not have says the speed is throttled to a useless 10mBit/s after 3GByte per day.

whichever is the actual description of the service provided - it not unlimited!!

Roamic esims appear to offer good value for monthly unlimited data plans. If you are after a preloaded esim that is, for the european destination you are heading for.

Esim users will be familiar with the set up routine. For those not familiar you receive the email and scan the QR code to download the esim to your phone. They do not normally activate until you enter the country you have purchased the esim for or until you turn it on in your settings.

There is a fair use policy but you normally are entitled to 10GB a day before the service is throttled down to a speed that is still reasonably fast if you are on a 5G service. Basically do not stream or download video in 4K and stream or download in standard definition or even live stream HD for 4 to 5 hours a day if streaming video is your thing and you should be OK.

They do block SIMs, with the roaming fair use policy, I have found out! I have two Reglo FR SIMs, one in the router in our house in France for internet CCTV etc when there and one in my twin SIM mobile.
After getting a Firestick and VPN for the van (no satellite ATM) I was testing the system by watching UK TV on my French SIM with the VPN whilst in UK, works fine. Reglo didn't like it and have now blocked it for Roaming outside France, well made it all chargeable to use. Contacting their CS I was told that the reason was the SIM was out of France more than in and until this changed all roaming use was chargeable.
I'll work around it now I know just by swopping my SIMs on each Visit.

Thats useful information. One of my options was to buy two Reglo sim this year like last year but unlike last year I suspect we will be in France for maybe five to seven days before heading into Italy and Austria for a month or two before heading back to France eventually. Its all proving to be a real ball ache.

I've had 2 sims for about 3 yrs, with one regularly out of France most of the time, without issue, it's recently when I used the roaming data to the max roaming limit allowed, for streaming TV, that triggered the roaming ban (well charges)

I let ours lapse so we would have to buy new ones when we get there but even if we were allowed to use the data outside of France they have knocked it down from 18gb for the 300gb sim and 14gb for the 200gb.

I thought they all had restrictions but so far I Can't see any for Tesco. The nearest option would be their 30 day sim at £30 for 100gb. Not fantastic but if it works it might be a possibility. I have read they have to be activated in the UK before you go though.

My link shows €19.99 for 15 days...think you are right though, it is all very expensive and complicated small print. Some looked good but if you use more than just 3gGbB in a day it throttled the speed to 1mps ( or whatever letters they use ..very slow anyway!) can't recall which one it was. Will go back to my vodafone.pt total go SIM which is unlimited for 30days ...usually about €35. Only for Portugal though. Last year we got an orange SIM in Spain for similar price. Think that covered France as well, but not sure.

Has anyone tried this smart SIM...only for 500 limited apps like maps WhatsApp. Not social media or streaming....£10 month....I think streaming is my main usage but having access to WhatsApp calls and other apps in the event of main SIM used up....quite appealing, but reading small print. Looks like my banks apps are on the list.

Its 500GB for 90 days for £80 if data only. Thank you for heads up so purchased.

The issue with unlimited data plans is that they all have a fair usage limit and from my research it is broadly between 3GB and 5GB per day after which you get choked to a speed which makes streaming very difficult if not impossible. Holafly do offer 10GB before choking but they are £60 for 30 days and for me I am not really going to use 10GB each day however there may be some days when I do (large downloads or if we have 24 hours of rain for example).

Even if you purchase an unlimited sim card plan in Spain you still suffer fair use policies. Any set amount of data plan does not choke.

With the Orange 500GB for 90 day plan there is no choking and you are guaranteed the 5g speeds masts permitting and they have the best coverage.

If you happen to use the 500GB within the 90 days you simply buy more data.

A reminder that if you purchase the 90 day plan through the Orange app you do have to provide ID and send a photo of your passport to them within 30 days or else they will disable your mobile esim access. Same applies to most long term plans across the EU.
