Glencoe Mountain Resort.

Sorry Fazerloz but I don’t know why you would expect anything else.

People are just bloody selfish and inconsiderate now days, I’ve never stayed there but that’s just because I have a house nearby. But it would be inconceivable to me not to pay. But obviously I’m old school and have some pride.
Where do you get the idea I would expect anything else. If you read through my posts I've not said I would expect anything other than what has happened to happen . All I do expect is for it to get worse. I simply copied the post from Glencoe Mountain Resort to make people aware and didn't even comment on it.
As I said in post #4 ( As I have suspected for a long time the majority out there are nothing but tight fisted freeloaders that just want to take and contribute nothing.)

Do you know The Wheels on the Bus too, Rob?

I'm glad to say that the 'Wheels' song didn't exist when I was 6 and started Violin lessons Ral. I didn't stick with it for very long and the only tunes I learned how to play were 'Twinkle, twinkle' and 'Little Brown jug'.

However, thanks for reminding me about the 'Wheels on the bus' song, I thought I'd finally got that particular ear-worm out of my head!!
Just for @Robmac.

I will start by saying no offence intended to genuine responsible full timers......

I get the very distinct impression there are 2 types of people that use motorhomes. Those like me that use them for holidays, are generally responsible, don't leave a mess or knowingly break any rules and pay dues where requested.

Then there are the full time van dwellers. They are the gypsies of motorhoming. Seem to have little regard for rules or paying, think nothing of leaving their mess behind or using emptying facilities without paying. And they are the ones that get the rest of us banned, moved on, and generally hated by a lot of the population.

You didn't mention renters . Have no evidence but feel as though many of them rent as a one off .
No responsibility, no thought for the 'community'

Very true indeed. They are probably oblivious to the rules and think they are behaving okay. Rented motorhomes do seem to outnumber owner used motorhomes in the summer.

I'm not sure its fair to generalise like that about full timers. I've known a lot of full timers over the years and they are wise, motorhome savvy and very much aware of the code of conduct as they know only too well that overnighting restrictions are just the swish of a pen from the authorities if they cause problems. If anything from what I have seen over recent years a lot of the problems seem to have arisen from newbies, renters etc who don't know or abide with any code of conduct for wild camping but I don't suppose its fair to generalise about them either.

I think there has been some problems with van dwellers who are forced into living in run down caravans etc in towns like Bristol for example but I am not sure we are talking about the same people here in this situation.

I'm my experience.... There ARE self interested, selfish, ignorant knuckle dragging don't give a £$%^ types in ALL walks of life...

I certainly wouldn't be prepared to single one section out... As being more guilty than others...

Not sure about leaving a mess but certainly the #vanlife types do try to spend as little as possible, overstay in certain places and congregate in groups especially in winter.

Always people who take the P155!

When I was working I put our caravan on a seasonal pitch. Early finish on Friday .... drive / ride to the site. Early wake up Monday .... drive / ride to the office.
The fees included electricity, but some people started leaving electric heaters switched on in their awnings 24 hours a day.

The owner changed the policy and made everyone have a meter fitted. The total site electricity usage went down by over 75% .

A rather unfortunate generalisation. I know one UK fulltimer, and he definitely does not act as you suggest, and a French fulltiming couple who similarly would not think of doing as you indicate.

Have you thought about getting a job at the Northern Ireland tourist board Trev? :ROFLMAO:
This was fact when i was 20 ish, even worse if you got a bad pint of guinness. 😨

Many years back we spent a night at Port Errol Harbour and back then there was a little donation box as seen in the centre of the screenshot.

There was a suggestion of £5 per night for motorhomes so we duely paid and always put ours in an envelope with our name and registraion on it.

8 motorhome and campers spent the night there, the following morning an elderly guy came and went to empty the box.

He came straight over to us, thanked us for our contribution and asked if we needed any info on the area.

He then went to the others who first claimed they`d paid then said they didn`t carry cash and would send it by post, bet they didn`t
