Any body use these?

If so, recommendations please. For use both at home and on the road.
Don't want to spend an absolute fortune - N.B. @Boris7 with all your super-fancy, state of the art tech gear {cough}, please note! ;)😜🤗😘😂

I fancy a new portable speaker for Christmas or my birthday. Sub £100 if there are any worth buying within that budget... ?
Hoping I can persuade Neil to disturb the moths in his Fort Knox wallet, otherwise I'll probably have to buy one myself! :devilish:;)

I have a cheap Betron I bought from our local Argos Clearance store several years ago, think I paid about £15 or therabouts?
(Our Argos Clearance store closed down a few weeks ago, but to be fair it's been gradually going downhill ever since the pandemic :( 😝)

The Betron has been OK-ish, but the volume isn't the greatest and lately it has started dropping out and shutting down for no apparent reason, so I'm guessing is on its way out.

I have been researching for all of 10 minutes and it seems like there are a few brands out there and the reviews are extremely mixed.....🤷‍♀️😕

I’ve had an Anker Soundcore 2 for about 4 years, think it was around £50 from memory. It’s been very good for sound quality and the battery charge lasts well.

I got the Soundcore mini for the van for about twenty quid!! Its brilliant. Well its ok for listening to the TV or laptops in the van.

Marie might be able to get something bigger and better though for her budget but for a tiny speaker its pretty good. Dead handy for the van as it takes up no space.

We play music most of the day ,we also do dance training class jive and rockerbilly every now and then.
These small speaker are fantastic good mid sound bass line brilliant for the size ..
Not cheap but quality never is.

Marie listen to the Anker folks, I have an Anker soundcore 2 I got from Amazon, and for the money I would be surprised if you will find better. We used to use it as a soundbar for our avtex tv, but with the vastly improved sound of the new Cello tv, I only use it for the radio and listening to music. I’m not saying it’s as good as a £100 plus speaker, but it’s better value for money. Tell Neil it cost £100 and blow the rest.:)
It’s currently £29.95 on Amazon prime right now.

Anker Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker with 12W Stereo Sound, BassUp, IPX7 Waterproof, 24-Hour Playtime, Wireless Stereo Pairing, Speaker for Home, Outdoors, Travel https://amzn.eu/d/5zA0mTw

Depends entirely how sub £100 you want to go?
Nothing wrong at all with Soundcore 2/3's, but Both JBL and Soundcore have products closer to £100 that do have both better quality sound, and more importantly, louder!
Minirig do great quality speakers, but not so sure about sub £100

The votes are in and the winner seems be Anker, but to suggest an alternative, I bought this one for the Motorhome last year to replace a small Bose which cost more than 3 times as much years ago. Some people can tell the difference between quality of speakers much better than myself, but to me there isn’t a huge difference in quality and I wouldn’t pay any more for the Motorhome.

Hi Ginge,

You say

"Portable wifi speaker?"

Do you mean wifi or just a portable speaker? (ie bluetooth)

If you want wifi and blue tooth

very portable bluetooth https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-Bluetoo...=electronics&sprefix=,electronics,109&sr=1-19

If bluetooth only and Neil will spring a bit more this is a good deal,

I use the Elan+ in the van and its great, especially with the wifi radio.

I also carry the XBoom just about everywhere, very good for the money and you can link 2 easily.
