Izzy isn't confident driving the 7metre Adria and needs to take over driving in poor light conditions as my eyesight isn't what it used to be.

So, today we have put a deposit on an 5.73metre Auto Sleeper Executive SE which is as close to mint condition as you can get, with just a tiny stone chip on the bonnet and a blind that is a bit wrinkled - and that's it.

Stats are:

Monocoque.
2x owners who were and are good friends.
Registered 1998.
Mileage 31,253.
Full yearly service history.
Full yearly habitation check.
Cam belt done 2 years ago.
4x new tyres.
Drive away awning, used once.
Sat Nav.
External screens.
Ramps.
Rear stabilisers.
Awning.
Leads
Millenco locks to all doors.
Everything works as it should.
12 months MOT as from today - no advisories.
Rear camera.
150 watt solar panel.
2x Leisure batteries, 1 year old.
New cranking battery.
Underside wax oiled.
Bike rack.
Outer polished to a gloss.
Loads of paperwork, booklets etc.
Original crockery.
Spotless upholstery, carpets and curtains.
There is bound to me more that I have missed.

It is a private sale, the sellers are just finding it too hard, physically, to travel long distances.

Sale price = £13,800 which is a bargain considering the condition, low mileage and the silly prices they can sell for.
Looked at one yesterday, nowhere near as good as this one, it had 52k on the clock, no solar, no camera and no driveaway awning and I was the underbidder on Ebay at £17,480.

We will have to learn how to travel light again as there isn't the same amount of storage. We may swap the fridge for one that has a larger ice compartment? Otherwise we are very pleased overall.

We pick it up on the 21st August so can post some pics for those that like mh porn.

The Adria Coral 680SL will be for sale in the coming weeks if anyone is interested.

5.7 that's the size of my nuevo ,great for 2 people or in my case one , 3o to 32 mpg , what is the base vehicle. Mine is peugote 2.2 with Ford engine with timing chain,, good luck in selling the Adria witch is a fabulous van ,

1158 miles a year🤔
Think my garden sheds done more than that.

I bought my van in 2019, 6120miles on the clock, think it’s 33,000 now
Bought Brunhilde 21st April 2021, with 8767 miles on the clock; now done 34161 miles, and barely used in 2025 whilst we've been sorting out the house [just 5 nights away this year, i.e. since April 2025]. Should get a decent run today and tomorrow as we take the M/Home to Carluke for timing belt, water pump and diesel filter replacement.

Our previous flat, listed building, limited our trips away to 60 days, so we did Spanish WInter Sun in a 57 and a 54 day trip, almost back-to-back. The house is an estate box, so we should be able to get 90 day cover, and save a Portsmouth-Bilbao return crossing fare, and a lot o diesel, using the same insurrer as we had for the flat ... Bonkers, but should reduce the annual mileage to within 10,000 per annum, and that will reduce the insurance premium quite a lot - over £60 on the M/Home premium, PLUS AA Breakdown UK & Europe included in the policy, so almost £300 cheaper than the 3 elements of cover.

Its probably a Corgi. Don't believe him guys. ;)

We had a 93 Amethyst.. 4000 miles on the clock in June 99

By the time we left UK, in November, we'd put another 6k on it.
Wonderful van, mint condition.

7 years later, with 54 k miles on, we got a generous trade in against a crappy new Homecar. No end of problems from a Preston Dealer , with a Scottish sounding name.

I gather that A/S changed hands a couple of times about 1998 and the sharks descended on quality and reliability. Too many corners had been cut.

Looks like you'll enjoy yours.
Don't worry about storage, you won't plan to full time in it, will you..?
You'll only need the one Mankini, any road up.

That sounds like an excellent find – especially at that price with such low mileage and a full history behind it. The fact it’s been so well looked after, right down to the paperwork, original crockery and even a wax-oiled underside, really shows how much care the previous owners have put into it. Downsizing from the Adria will definitely be an adjustment in terms of storage, but it sounds like the Auto Sleeper will make driving much easier and less stressful, especially in tricky light conditions. Swapping out the fridge for one with a bigger ice compartment sounds like a smart tweak too. Looking forward to seeing the photos once you pick it up – it really does sound like you’ve got yourselves a gem!
