I guess it depends on who the average customer is? The way YOU make tea I would find totally undrinkable. And clearly the way I like MY tea you would hate. After years of drinking tea that you could stand a spoon upright in ,I recently had the option in our local supermarket of Typhoo or Typhoo ,what a load of crap 3 bags in one cup and still had no flavor or color . Is this what the average customer wants?
Good to have a SWMBO who knows how to make teaIn 1969 I got married and at that point I was a definite "spoon per person, one for the pot and let it mash for at least 4 minutes" person.
SWMBO, however, was a "put water in teapot and pour it out" girl.
This meant she had finished and I was still waiting to take my first sip, which was not a good thing,
Over the years I reduced the mashing time and I am now drinking tea flavoured water.
Coffee, however, is a different matter. I like "Horse shoe" coffee !
Method
1) add coffee to pot
2) add water to pot
3) put horse shoe into pot
4) if horse shoe sinks add more coffee
5) Repeat step 4.
We've been having Yorkshire Tea for many years, but lately it's been very variable, sometimes a strong cup of tea in a minute or so, other times seems to take ages to get any flavour.
