We are going to change our van soon, I have been looking at chausson motorhomes, I think it was the "chausson welcome" model on a ford running gear.
Does anyone have any experience the maker, are they any good?

Excellent company to deal with . Went to factory once for minor repairs, not sure if still possible

I've never had one but I know somebody who has and I was very impressed by the quality of her Motorhome.

Thank you, We are going to put our van up for sale soon then have a look for one

A friend had a new one on hire a few months back ,they had a lot of electrical issues when away with it ,when phoned the company he said that all six that had been put out on hire had issues ,my mate traced the faults to cheap crap wrong amp fuses installed he phoned the guy back to inform about fix the hire company then contacted all hires to do the same ,apparently they're constructed in Turkey? Cheap Chinese fuses ? There were other small build issues but on general he liked the van and said it went well ,good on fuel
when returning the van he got a nice thank you and got some money back for his troubles
Now dont take my word that they're built in turkey it was something he was told
good luck anyways

That is interesting, I wonder if this has now been rectified with the fuses?
I will vary on my research for now.
Thank you

My first van was a Chausson 510.
We had several issues including a leaking window.
But overall I thought it was a good van.
My advice when picking any manufacturer or dealer, is remember those who are satisfied don’t tend to say much, and those who are unsatisfied make a lot of noise. Chausson are a very innovative part of the Trigano group, and I like some of their ideas.

The most common stolen vans are the chausson and Roller Team vans on Transit chassis it doesn’t make them a bad van but if you buy one add some extra security.

Chausson have some really good, innovative designs. We have owned a Chausson Maxi Suite in the past based on a Fiat. Nice van, had an innovative vertical motorised internal cycle rack system that they patented but haven't seen it on subsequent models. As others have said the factory can be very helpful, they sorted our electrical problems when we just turned up at the factory gate in Tournon. Build quality is good for the price band, but don't expect top quality internal materials, they are priced accordingly.

We have a 2013 chausson suite relax. This year the fridge gave up.......most unreliable motorhome ever........ don't buy one......
😁😁😁😁😁

Nowt else has gone wrong in 10 years..
Not sure the new models have the same build quality though.

Ran Transits for years never had a serious problem with any of them must have had 20+ vans over the years when they did break they were cheap and easy to repair parts were easy to get not too bad on fuel either. We have one that won’t die it’s a 2010 done over 350,000 miles still works hard every day and runs great. Secret fresh oil and filters

Thanks all for your input. I think i will spread my search further and see what other vans are available for my budget.
