Deposit?

Bank transfer is the best way, but as Ral has said make sure it is in your bank account before releasing the motorhome,
Don’t settle for them showing you on their device that they have transferred the money
Seller of my motorhome left it with me without having the money in their account ;)
They didn't end up with the money until around 24 hours later :)

the guy that bought my last motorhome bought £5k with him for deposit but decided he didn’t want to make another 200ml return trip and would take it with him this tripped my scam radar he phoned back to his office and got his daughter to transfer the money so while we went for a test drive jan checked the deposit no consecutive no watermarks etc after about 20 mins after we returned checked my online banking and the money was in my account ,
all in all a positive experience but i’m sure katherine you and james are cute enough to avoid the obvious scammers

paid for current m/home with cash went to look at it test drove it it all seemed right left someone sat in my lift over to see it ,done the deal and she said do you want to do bank transfer or cash if i drive you to the bank tommorow as banks where shut went to the car got a lidlss carrier bag walked back into house and counted it out on kitchen worktop she looked shocked

Banks tend to have a limit on how much cash you can withdraw without notice. I think they also ask questions regarding where the cash came from if you try and make a big deposit.

I sold a sportscar to a chap once and we went into the bank and did a transfer there and then with an actual human being who worked there so that they could assure me that the transaction was irreversible.

On another sportscar sale I had a chap come from France to view and he gave me 1000€ deposit. he the went back to France and paid the full amount which I sat on for 6 weeks until he could come back over to collect the car!

£500 in readies seems a useful deposit to me, as has been said.

Good luck with the sale

Lloyds bank have a daily limit of £20 k.
So not enough.
Bankers draft costs £25 .....well worth it from both points of view
I would happily pay that to get the cash securely in one transaction..
Safe as houses !!!!

Lots of forged Bankers Drafts around.

Personally I would not accept a Bankers Draft as 1) forged ones around and 2) I wouldn't know how to check if it were genuine or not.
