Out of interest I looked at booking a site through the clubs system. For 4 nights in high season it came to £179.80, an eye watering £44.95 per night with no fascilities. I then priced this using the pricing calander and I came out with a price of £27.55 a night.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just a price hike?

I'm a member and find the booking system quite clunky at times. They can be pricy for non members though. I pay on average between £7.00 - £12.00 per night. One van, one man and his dog. Being a member gives me concessions on my insurance ( independent not theirs )and RAC arriva recovery. Membership is recovered 3 times over. Hardly ever use their sites though, too regimented in neat lines. Staff are usually friendly and accommodating though. Try ringing them.

I am a member and this was a member price. Have used their CS sites on occasion but at the moment missing the THS . Still a bit cautious so not venturing out but will wait until things quieten down.

Are they still running a 'Ryanair' type pricing structure, whereby the fewer the spaces left the higher the prices? I know there where complaints about this a couple of years back.

If it's for two people £ 27.55 seems about right for members. Maybe they have jacked the pricing?. 6 nights at Keswick (site near Rugby club) cost me £78.00 Last February, with electric.
Just looked up 6 nights at same site this year for me in November £92.00, so slight increase. To be expected.

I haven't booked a CCC site post Covid but am booked into the C&MC Moreton in Marsh site on the 20th for three nights, one night falling into the high season at a total cost of £96. I wouldn't normally contemplate high season, but I've got wanderlust.

It can be confusing - when I first used the online booking it came out too high and when I checked back it was because I hadn't changed the adults from 2 to 0 so it was charging me for them as well as my Age Concession person that I had added (myself) so it was effectively charging for 3 adults instead of one.

The other thing the website seems to do is mysteriously change the booking dates. It's happened a couple of times to me when travelling I've decided to use a club site that night or the next and when I get there am told I've booked for a weeks time. I always double check now.
Both clubs seem to have very clunky websites.

I thought this was wild camping site and not camp sites-r-us. If I wanted to know about campsites I’d be elsewhere looking for them

Well I did 120 nights last year and if I conservatively estimated £20 per night then I have saved in the region of £2400!!
Had hoped to better the number of nights this year but not much likelihood now. Some might argue I am saving even more not having to buy fuel to get me to the places I couldn’t go to until recently.
