Hi all

Sorry I don't post on this forum very often and I have just re-read my introductory post from when I joined in August 2014. I now live permanently in France where I work for a UK company providing adventure holidays for children from schools in the UK. I am just starting my 4th season. Yes, it's a long season for me as I carry out maintenance before and after the actual holiday season. The sites I work on are all in the South of France and the house I bought in 2016 is near to Angouleme so I don't get home much. I live in my MH for most of the time is it is better than the accommodation provided. During the actual season food is provided by the company but I have to pay - of course.

Until recently my motorhome was an AutoTrail Chieftain which was proving to be a bit too big for me although I had all my home comforts and it was set up well for independent travelling. Of course when I am on site I have access to electricity, water etc and I tend to use the showers and toilets provided. Finishing the season towards the end of October, I then had to arrange a trip to UK for MOT and see to any things such as doctor, dentist, optician. This means an expensive trip to UK when I wanted to be in my home starting some of the millions of things that need doing.

So, to cut a long story short! I sold my AutoTrail last year on 1st December in the UK. I had emptied as much as possible out of it before travelling to UK and I travelled with my French girlfriend Mireille and we towed her Fiat Punto on my trailer. After the sale, we drove back to France towing the trailer with the Punto. The trailer was supposed to be empty but you will be surprised how much paraphernalia you carry in the MH. We started looking for a French "camping-car" as soon as we returned to France. We eventually found one that ticked all our boxes and we picked up an Eriba Car T596 in Rennes on 8th January. We were going to call her Theresa Eriba but have settled now on Theresa Cariba!

That month without a MH was very strange indeed. After picking her up we only had a week to get ready for the start of season. I am working for 2 months on a site near Valras Plage just south of Bezier. I will be here for 2 months before I transfer to my normal site in the Gard close to the Ardeche area. We are getting used to the new MH but miss some of the basics such as an oven, microwave and I forgot to remove my motorhome wifi kit before I sold the other. Fortunately I have 50gb data allowance per month on my phone. I always used to hotspot the phone with the motorhome wifi kit if there was no wifi available but for some reason I can't hotspot to my laptop so I am having to usb tether it to my laptop and set up a hot spot from the laptop. My girlfriend is an excellent cook and says the lack of an oven or microwave isn't a problem.

I have other small issues which I will need help with and will start to post more frequently on this site again. (or should I be using Motorhomer.com?)
