I lose my radio, etc. as soon as my ignition is switched off. There is no position 1 on the ignition switch that might leave power to the radio without everything else so I would like to have a switchable dual power option to run the radio off the leisure battery.

The van is on a Fiat Ducato chassis which I believe has CANBUS electrics which I know nothing about. Could I just run a wire from the battery with an inline fuse and switch to run it when ign is off?

Any help appreciated.

That is exactly what I have done with both head units in mine, had the same problem as you. Just ran a wire from the leisure side, fused of course, and wired the head unit up in the cab and back. Just remember to wire in the memory and live together otherwise.

OK, think I have got that right. So no switch just run power with fuse to power in + memory ? Still grounded as now?

Yup. simples eh!!!

The memory line will stop you loosing your selected stations when you switch off. I have even managed to wire up all 12 speakers to run from either the front or rear head unit, talk about surround sound.
