At what point in the year do you stop camping and when do you start again?

When I can get my hand off my hip and stiffen up this limp wrist!
Start again when I catch sight of Charles Hawtrey in a carry on film

I stop when the snow is too deep to get out of my street and start again when it thaws. :drive:

Our van is insulated and has a decent heater. If the road is safe we go all year round.

never stop really, only thing that prevents me going every weekend is finances,

Jen

the only time we stop camping is when we're saving for the next trip

We don't stop Phil

24/7/365 are our numbers. We will retreat to a couple of CLs we often use with hookup and one with free wifi this year, as we won't be heading south to Spain. It is time for Joans medical to retain the C1+E on her licence, then apply for her renewal in December. We then wait for DVLA to return it, so it looks like spring and summer abroard next year and an early return the following year for me to go through the process. This will then form a 3 year cycle for us from then on.

We stop when the engine blows up again, & start when I get the tent out of the cellar!!

When my heart and brain cells are dead. Bury me with my MH. The hole has got to be 7.0m long, 3.0 wide (because of wing mirrors) and 5.0m deep. because of Sat dish, and the panoramic ceiling window to be left open for fresh air) ☺ ☺ ☺

havn't tried winter wilding yet, if I can figure out the heating in the van (all our manuals are in German) :rolleyes2: then maybe we should keep going this year? (is it safe to sleep with the blown air heating on?)

the heater only recirculates the air in the van,so assuming you trust the gas and 12v connections it's fine

Only stop when the cash runs out

I love it when the tourists go home, I hate being an obvious tourist n try to blend in with the locals.

Difficult in some locations, that is until the sun tan develops!!

For me it's not really the time of the year but the forecast temperatures, we don't really plan long trips in advance, instead we get book several long weekends off through the whole year with more in the summer months. we'll take advantage of the warmer spells of weather and go away at those times for a few days here and there, when the weather's crappy then we'll hold it off for the next chance.
At other times of the year we'll go away any month as long as the night forecast is above -5c and it doesn't look like it'll be a complete washout.

I think once I get a night heater fitted in the van then temperature will no longer be a barrier.

There's a guy I know who went away up north last December camping under canvas fully in the know that it was going to be under -10c at night, ended up it was closer to -16c and the coldest night of the year!

Since getting the motorhome we have camped all year round (Ok only our 1st year).

I have camped in temperatures down to -20, that was just outside the Antartic Circle and we were in Snow holes!

We are pretty restricted to school holidays, as the Kids have weekend commitments.

Although this year we are keen to get away in between Christmas and new year for a few days - just not sure where?

I drive my MH all year round / every day so the option is always there.

Cheers
Matthew
