What was your first camper van/motor home?

Looks as this may also be the last too !!!!!!! We've had three welding garages look at the tin worm problem and each scenario is worse than the previous one. Anyway, yesterday was Sue's 75th birthday and as we sat down to lunch with son and granddaughter the 'phone rang and a specialist commercial welder (whom I've been trying to tie down for a while) said he could have a look today yippee thought I; Anyway just got back and it seems likely that extent of rot is fairly close to terminal, we'll know within the next couple of weeks.
Oh poo, poo, poo
oppy maybe worth a try putting a post on the local facebook page for a welder who does extra work for himself or someone who does it for a hobby etc. always worth a try..........good luck.........

For many years I wanted a motorhome but stupidity stopped me from getting one. Then on advice of my brother bought an Elddis 120. To be fair it worked great and only sold it after a mistake by taking the missus to a motorhome show and she saw all the "shiny things". Now on the second motorhome, an Adria 590 which is wonderful but had a few gremlins but nothing major. Will keep it although I can sell it for more than i paid for it. Prices are crazy!

We bought a barn and threequarters of an acre in the Loire valley in the 1980s and quickly found out that hiring a van each trip to transport building and other materials was costly.
A friend of a friend had a Toyota hyace van for sale so we bought it.
Not the one below incidently.

Then we thought why not use it for trips around France once the building gear was unloaded.

So we put in a two burner stove a small handbasin a folding mattress and sleeping bag, 5 gallon water container and voila we were up and running.
After a couple of years Madam wanted a fridge and I wanted etc etc etc so we sold the toyota and got an elddis 270 and never looked back------------------------- well accept for reversing .
