Last year we stayed on the Costa Blanca in a villa during November and December and the weather was great, lovely and warm, meant the wife was happy as she could sunbathe many of the days.

We are here again and the weather has been crap, much cooler, more rain and the wind is howling as I type. We have had about 4 days of good sunny weather last week, but it has deteriorated yet again.

Sadly we aren't in the motorhome, left that at home, but having a drive around the various places last year that we visited seem to be deserted of motorhomes, even some of the official sites looked a lot quieter than normal, noticed more signs up saying no camper vans caravans or tents, I wonder if this has put people off coming. Wonder if the police have had a crack down or something. On a bonus though eating out and drinking is still very cheap, especially if you opt for the menu del dais.

can be just normal weather at this time of the year.
its happened quite a few times in the last twenty years i traveled spain etc . portugal can be even worse. once at tavira we had pallets floating around our campers as we were stopped at the carpark out by the boat club.
in spin have seen the big parking area or grass patch out side gib border flooded right deep. some times even la linea streets like rivers .
even going to morocco in november there it can be flooded for miles along the coasts .
mind you could go inland along the med coast and not get rain ......just deep snow.
its all fun isnt it.

You are unlucky weather wise. We have been in Benidorm since mid October and up until yesterday, with the exception of 1 rain day which cleared the air, there had been only 30 or so minutes of daytime rain for the whole period. Plenty of sun with 90% of the days being beach days as long as you are in a sheltered spot on the breezy days. Those who have travelled up from Malaga have said the weather there has been mixed for several weeks so we have been well pleased to have been in the Benidorm area.

Weather is forecast to pick up again from Friday onwards for an extended period so enjoy.

yes it can be you were.
we used to drive through france but got fed up of wind and rain ,coldness .
then did santander on ferry drive to the med and spend 6 weeks to get to algeciras . then twelve weeks morocco . best catch ferry next week.
then 6 weeks either back along the med or up along portugal and northern spain.
tried first 6 weeks coming down portugal but bad weather spoilt that idea.
but always have fun . smile and be happy .
its lovely here in cornwall sunny , no frost on windscreen last night , has been for sunday and monday mornings . . but great now .
got to about 12c yesterday and last night 1.7c . mind have had lots rain just lately.
have a good trip. it should get better soon.

We are only an hour further south than Benidorm, maybe Benidorm has been the place to be. 😎

If you want proper warm weather where its warm at night also head for the Canaries. Rented in Tenerife Dec/Jan in the past and its lovely, even at night its shorts weather.

I have got the windows open here in London, full sunshine and its warm

We are in Almeria Province and it has certainly been wetter than last winter but last winter was exceptionally dry and sunny. It is currently p***ing down and has been for over 12 hours. The forecast for tomorrow is warm and dry and we have had a long period of warm and dry up until yesterday. The intense storms happen from time to time (usually accompanied by high wind) and can cause heavy flash floods (as here in September) but they don't usually last long. If you have had an extensive period of foul weather you have indeed been very unlucky.

We’ve had a day and a night of high winds and rain here in Bolnuevo, southern Murcia and it’s forecast for the rest of the day and maybe tomorrow, it happens. Clearing up toward the end of the week and then full sunshine forecast again.

Thank your lucky stars you’re not here in the UK.
We’ve had a couple of bright sunny days but the rest of the time it’s pissing down, floods, freezing fog, heavy cloud & drizzle, arse end of hurricanes off the Atlantic, you name it, we’ve had it.
Stay there & enjoy the good food & drink, the forecast here is for much more of the same.

never know it could be snow again in benidorm.
even further afield .
cant beat a bit of snow in winter.

We had a villa in Almeria for 11 years and got used to strong winds and rain from Nov to March. Would never last more than a few days and we still enjoyed the occasional breakfast on the patio. I remember one morning in April waking up to 2 inches of snow - had to get up quick to see it as it had disappeared by 10am.

Shame you’ve not got your Motorhome with you ... you could follow the sun. But you’d do a lot of mileage though, as the sun in Spain seems to be playing peek a boo.
