Weigh Scales for Gas Bottles

I do not condone filling a non-refillable bottle but to make life safer for those who do, Aldi are selling Weigh Scales that go up to 50 lb (22 Kg) for £3.99. They are meant to be used by Anglers.

They are also handy to work out how much gas is in a partially filled bottle. Weigh the bottle, deduct the net weight of the bottle and multiply the result by 2 and you have the number of Litres of gas in the bottle.

I doubt if they will be accurate to a milligramme but will be OK for weighing gas bottles.
 
hi maingate , i take it they are old fashioned spring balance type. .. i have had a spring balance for ages . ideal for the job. reimo sell them in their catalogue just for that job. small compact and will work for years . mine are old parcel scales . hate to say the age got them from my grandad years ago. no metric just pounds and ounces . but thanks for the post i,m sure it will be helpfull for many. cheers alan.
