Webasto DualTop or Trauma

Im new here, and building a motorhome. The choice of heating for water and space in proving difficult.
It was going to be gas and the Trauma combi system but a convincing sales rep at Lincoln got me thinking about Webasto DuelTop. My van has an extended fuel tank so it could be a good choice. However LPG is also a strong contender as I have loads of space under the van and a gas tank for £20.00. Webasto fits in or under the van so giving more space.
So has anyone got experience of both? What is more efficient gas or Diesel? What about noise and fumes? And of course reliability.

I saw this Ytube vid of the Webasto I couild not understand the auto dump of the water in cold climates???? I must be missing something:sleep-027:

I like Webasto heaters. I have a Thermotop model on my Land Rover with remote radio fob control from my bedroom window, heats the engine and cabin in a few mins. very powerfull lovely in the winter:banana:.

If your budget is tight then using these Wabasto and similar Eberspacher water heaters with an added self contained heat exchanger is a cost effecive soloution, many ebay sellers.

We have Eberspacher diesel and although it is cheap to run it guzzles amps - between 2 to 6 compared to 1.1 for blown gas. If it's cold
enough to need heating all night this restricts your time between battery charging. Our next van will definitely have a radiant gas heater
such as the Trumatic S5002, which needs no eleccy. The downside is you lose storage space.

Hi, we had an Eberspacher in the first Murvi "1999 with very few problems over 10 years use. However it was noisy & did not fully reach the temp that we needed in extreme conditions.

The latest Murvi "2009" has a Webasto DualTop RHA-102 7Kw fitted & is a superior piece of kit by far. Silent & keeping us warm with outside temps down to – 14.

We also have a 25litre LPG tank slung under the vehicle, which along with a solar panel + 2 x 130amp leisure batteries makes us independent of campsites & hook ups if needs be.

Dezi :pc:
