Not used the van since the Upton Blues in July.
Filled the fresh water tank for a forthcoming trip, continuous operating noise from pump, operating light on control panel but nothing coming the tap.
I fitted a new Shurflo pump about 7 years ago & it’s been fine up to now.
Any ideas out there???
Mike.

Could be an airlock, on mine, (Hymer not A/S Symbol but the process will be the same) I have to remove the shower head and suck on the hose with the shower switched on until I can feel the water coming up the hose, all those years siphoning petrol left me with the skill to not get a mouthful :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I’ll try that one but not being used to nicking petrol, I’ll probably end up with a mouthful——Last time I tried it, not only a mouthful but swallowed some as well, petrol I mean!
Hate to think what diesel tastes like!

After a few months of not working it could be the impeller in stuck.

Try some gentle percussive maintenance. (i.e. a gentle tap with a piece if wood).

Tried that, sucked up plenty water but it didn't get the pump running.

There are three moving diaphragms in the pump, if you can hear them working and there is no water is coming out one or more has split or is otherwise damaged. They can be replaced but to save an awful lot of messing about I think your easy option is a new pump, after all seven years isn't bad going.

If you are getting water through then I would also think it is the pump, if it has run without water in the tank it damages the seals/diaphragms

The OP said no water was coming through but Shurflo say their pumps can safely be run dry without damage. I think as this one is seven years old it has simply reached the end of its life and it’s just normal diaphragm wear and tear.

He said that he sucked up plenty of water when he sucked on the shower hose, that eliminates the pipe work/airlocks/leaks etc which does point to the pump as you said, at the price of spare parts or replace the pump I agree with you, a new pump is the best option
I was unaware that running shurflo pumps without water didn't damage them

Mine got turned on when one of the kids went in the Laika, it was on for THREE MONTHS worked fine, I only noticed as there was a dull whine so I went in to check.
