TV Aerial

Does anyone use an aerial like this. Truck Boat Campervan Gain 96db Digital Freeview Antenna DVB-T TV Aerial Car 700161463903 | eBay

Really not interested in the Status type aerials and just want something I can fit and forget. Currently just use a Phillips indoor battery powered job and tend to get signal in most places, having a fibreglass roof probably helps.

Cheers

That Necvox aerial is very well regarded in the VW Campervan scene.

I have one as it was so well regarded. Bought May 20106. Total waste of £39 IMO. Even had a replacement a few months later when got fed up that it picked up very little and the replacement was the same (used on metal roof as well).
I was at one festival and someone next to me with a £10 magmount TV aerial was getting a good signal and I had just blocks on the screen with my top of the range Necvox.
Is it people buying it and not wanting to admit it was a bad buy? Or is it me, despite having two aerials, two different TVs, two different vans and multiple locations?
I found using a little booster did improve things a lot and made some channels viewable in some places.

I think the gain on it is a bit over the top,17 or so dbi gain would be more like it,a end feed yagi from asda will be 100 times better at about £5

We had one on our old transit, its still on there now and still works great, as we gave the van to our son. It can struggle in built up areas or valley bottoms. All in all I thought it was worth every penny..

I have used that type of aerial for the last 15/20 years I figured all them trucks can’t be wrong and all I do is chuck it out of my skylight when parked but buy a descent one and check the length of the lead some are only a 1mtr length

Beat me to it.A Unix 52 ,one of the best aerials ever made would only give around 14.5 depending on the frequency you were measuring at.
