Tap Terminology assistance needed

We have a broken kitchen tap in our Lunar Premier & I need either some spares or a whole new tap.
It looks like it's a Smev tap, like this one.

The plastic bit that the mixer head swivels on was broken off inside the head.

Do I need to replace the whole tap or just some bits. If it is bits what should I be looking for? Can anyone recommend a good supplier or what I should search for on eBay?

We also need a pipe connector like these.

The pipe look like a 12mm diameter, does that sound right?

Sorry for all the questions but he who does plumbing has gone to work & I sit in front of a PC all day so I'm the purchasing manager.

Pipe has UNIQUICK 12 x 1,5 on it so can I presume 12 is the mm diameter?

The bottom of the tap looks different. Ours doesn't have the red & blue bits. It has white plastic tubes that are part of the tap unit, looks like the pipes push up into it.

The pipe has a white bit on the end with a little black washer thingy on it.

So if I bought that tap would I need something else????

your white connectors might fit the newer style tap but they do look different so a pack of these will hold the hose on the new connectors after the existing crimped ends have been cut off. Jubilie clips could be used but these are neater easier to fit and don't rust

Ooh err I'm completely confused now. Perhaps I'll have to consult with the plumber when he comes home & show him all these useful links.

yes never easy as the last type I linked to are spray nozzle type so might not be as good as a kitchen tap

Google 'Reich taps' and see if it could be one of theirs. Being a Lunar, it is a possibility.

I think you are right the connections look like a Reich and could be a twist model and then it gets complicated they do various size taps with mounting holes being 48mm 39 mm and 33mm. I think first thing to do is measure the hole

Well spotted maingate. I've emailed Reich to see if they can tell me which tap it is etc.

Reich Germany forwarded my email to Reich UK who responded very quickly.
The tap is a Reich twist & I have to but a new one.

I've just sent the 3rd email to Leisureshop Direct, asking them to advise which tap is a direct replacement for mine.
I emailed photos & the hole diameter & they came back with a whole page full of taps (13 in all).
I went back & asked for a specific link to the tap I needed & mentioned the one I thought it was. They came back with a part number & said "but you will need to check it to see if its the one you want". Their part number is not the one I thought it was, so how the hell am I supposed to know which tap it is? :mad2::mad2::mad2:

You will need to examine the spout and handle to see if one is the same as yours. It cannot be done by hole sizes etc. Some of them will have identical innards, just different spouts and handles.

If you can find an Accessory shop for Caravans/Motorhomes near you that stocks Reich spares, then you can take yours along to compare. Otherwise you will have to gamble on picking one from LSD online.

Thanks maingate, I have hassled them into specifying the tap they think it is so I shall order that one. I sent them loads of pics so they should have got it right (I hope).
