We are heading up to the carpark in stormferry on Loch Carrron end of the month before heading down to morvich for more wild camping.

Just wondered if anyone had been to this carpark.
Any tips opinions welcome.

Thanks

It’s a lay-by at the side of the main road which is fairly quiet. If you want to get away from the main road head for Stromeferry (no ferry) and just down the hill on the left is a wee carpark in the woods for Stromeferry nature walks. Interesting wee place Strome stayed at the Station Masters house a few times.

Thank you for that, I will take a look when we get there.

Well on Saturday morning we are off to stromferry for two nights, then heading to morvich for two nights.
We will wild camp the first night at morvich then use the caravan and Motorhome site there on our last night. Looking forward to stromgery and returning to morvich, a beautiful part of Scotland.

Many thanks runnach, I may use this site, but we plan to spend two nights at the viewpoint carpark listed on the pois, or possibly the carpark Caledonia advised on the road down to stromferry.

Enjoy, a lovely part of the world, when I first married ,my in laws managed an estate in Lochcarron and on the days time off was taken we used to launch a small dinghy from Stromeferry...I caught my very first (and only) sea trout there only a tiddler mind

How did you get on with your trip up the Wild West Coast?

Great time the weather was great and so was the wild camping.
Spent first night on the viewpoint carpark by the roadside.
It was fine apart from it was busy during the day with folk coming and going.
lovely views over loch Carron.
Next night we went down the road towards stromeferry and went into the carpark you suggested.
Great location, but only room for possibly two motorhomes in carpark, we were there alone second night.
Lovely and quiet, did the short forestry walk.
About 50 yards further in there is a lovely spot looking right up the loch, but its a turning area, and you would have to be very careful parking up.
There are no obstacles between you and a 150 feet drop.

We then headed for morvich and wild camped at the cemetery car park, lovely spot.
we did one of the hills that day and spent a peaceful night.

last night we went into the C&M site in Morvich, did the glomar waterfall walk through the valley.

Great wee break, heading over to arran on Sunday::p

Like to add.

I know some of you are not into campsites, but the C&M club site at Morvich is one of the best locations I have seen.
You are surrounded by mountains and wonderful scenery.
They have toilets, showers, chemical waste point, motorhome service area, booster for TV, (6 channels), Laundry facilities, hook up, and a TV room.
At £18.50 a night I thought it was good value.

Also the Viewpoint carpark at stromeferry offers no TV signal.
But the Lower carpark towards stromeferry had good TV reception.
