Being a sports fanatic I take my Sky card and a multi room box with me every trip.
If you are wanting to watch and you pay for any premium packages like sports or movies you will have to pair the card with whatever sky box you take with you so either make sure you have internet wherever you are parking up or pair them on your drive or on route where you have internet. Never had any issues with sky preventing this the last 2 years. It’s a 2 minute job to pair the card as it explains how to do it when you attempt to watch a premium channel. It prompts you to go onto your sky account online and shows you how to do the pairing. On your return home just put the card back into your main sky box and if you go onto a premium channel it will ask you if you want to pair the card to the box, just select ok and job done.
I use a multi room box, available on fleabay for £15.00 as it is less power hungry than a standard hd box if off grid and running it through an inverter.
Only downside with the multi room box is you cannot record or pause.

Cool cheers for that - good idea getting the smaller ‘multi room box’ to leave in the van and sync it up that way thanks

A bit off topic but I have just rigged up an old Sky box in the van. I have a Sky dish mounted on a tripod that I set up outside the van. I get the free to air channels because I chucked Sky out years ago. There is a good TV aerial on the van roof so the dish is just for emergencies or when we are on a Site in a bad reception area. We are heading North tomorrow so it might come in handy in the far North.

If heading north is to the far reaches of Scotland yes you will probably need the satellite dish. I spend most of my time north of Tyndrum up the west coast and find I need the satellite 99% of the time.
