No chance of wildamping on there, it's a privately owned site with one gated roadway in which has now closed for the season. Besides the one road which floods twice a day there is no other way onto the island.

IF.... You're happy to pay to camp there (and avoid the busiest parts of the season)
It's as close to wild camping with facilities IF you want them as you can get....
It's frankly purgatory in the busiest parts of the year BUT bliss away from them....
Speaking as someone that has been visiting for almost 50 years now.
Love Shell Island. It might not be wilding but it's really huge and natural... if you tuck yourself away in the dunes you wouldn't know another soul was there.
