Replacement Eberspacher D4S 3.5kw

After 12 years our Eberspacher heater is in need of new parts and major service. The parts will cost £70 -£80. Then there is the cost of labour!

Looking online a replacement chinese heater is about £100 and comments seem fairly positive re quality. Installation doesnt look too difficult -just air inlet and outlet, burner air inlet and exhaust and connections to electrics and diesel.

Am I missing something? Also I note that the copies have a higher heat output for the same size: is that a problem?

Any observations gratefully received.

I’m going to buy a new eberspacher M2 for mine. I think you’ve experienced the reason why.
