Piltdown man extinct

All set up for the Bristol balloon festival this weekend until I saw the weather forecast - only just got off the field last year.

So its all points east into darkest Sussex to visit some Nation trust gardens. I have just found out that the Piltdown man pub near Uckfield is now closed so it needs to removed from the database.

I would like to stay at Devils Dyke near the Pub. Any local yokels know if this spot is still OK as it would be a good base for a couple of nights ?

We stayed overnight at Devils Dyke on thursday & Friday. 3 / 4 vans joined us. The pub has got a bit neglected since my last visit 10 years ago,

but the staff were pleasant, the beer was cold & the meal excellent. A nice spot.
